The MOC car is exactly twice as big as the vintage taxi from set 368-1 Taxi Garage.
To stay true to the era of this set, mostly vintage parts are used. Such as the wheels and the bricks they pin into. Or the light gray parts, such as the plates and the 2×2 tiles without a groove. Lastly, the trans-clear slopes that serve as a windscreen. Although these are still being made today.
Obviously the yellow 2×4 tile that replicates the taxi sign is new. As are the 8×8 plates in the roof and chassis of the car. And the snot bricks that are part of the grill.
The only thing that I didn’t replicate is the ‘TAXI’ print on either side of the car. The mean reason being there is no 1×4 or 2×4 black brick with a taxi print. I also couldn’t find an official LEGO sticker version.
If you do want to add the TAXI print, you can use the 2×3 bricks from the original set. And add 1×2 black bricks to fill up the sides. But it won’t be centered, nor to scale and why I opted out on that. The last option is to print a custom sticker and stick it accross the two 2×4 black bricks on either side.
